The Voice of my Art

Art is the process or product of deliberately arranging elements in a way to affect the senses or emotions. It encompasses a diverse range of human activities, creations, and modes of expression, and I believe in this definition. Each person has their own kind of art, in different fortes or genres. So there is no such thing as a copy art because each of us has our own originality and difference is what makes things special.

I, myself believe that I’m an artist. An artist that wants to give life and meanings to every artwork that I am creating. I, like other artist do, can show creativity and originality in my art even in a simple sketch or a huge mural. I give all the necessary efforts and more to make every art I make into a Master Piece or an Obra Maestra, one that can look up to, an art defining who I am and what I do.

Sketches, drawings, abstract, paintings or murals and even collages or scrap art, name it! I can do all of those. I’m not an artist that only focuses on one kind of art. I’m training myself through contests and art projects to improve my own skills. Yes, I train myself, because due to my loyalty in journalism, I never had a chance to study in my school’s art classes but even so, I prove that the best teacher is myself if art is my real passion. I believe in learning by doing so my experiences are my helping hand in improving myself as an artist. I take different ideas to my co – competitors in every contest I join, trying to figure out how they can do such art. From this, it’s ok for me to be called a copy cat artist. Mixing and experimenting on the different ideas that I collected, teaches me to create my own piece of art.

I first learn to draw by curiosity. I saw my friends drawing odd objects when I was still a child. I saw my mother trying her best to copy a character on a book for my project and finally, I saw different artworks that fascinated me and inspired me to be an artist. I saw a great variations or combinations of color that I tried my very best to learn how it is being done. I saw pencil or charcoal art that impressed me a lot for such art using one medium so I thought I could also do such art so then I practiced and succeeded. These are just some of the reasons why I learn to love art.

I also learn art by accident. There is a time that my creativity is tested by representing the school in a Scrap art contest. At that moment, I have no Idea what to do so what I did is I studied about it and compete with full confidence. This is the reason why I’m exposed to many kinds of art, through curiosity and by accident but thanks to a lot of turning events in my life, now I can say that I have showcased my skills in art. Just like when another teacher of mine asked me to join in a collage making contest 1 day before the activity and since I have no choice, I compete, I prepared all night and didn’t get a wink of sleep, I asked different people to give me advice to what I have do in order win.

One of the most common advice given to me is “Just make fun out of it! Just expressed your idea on the theme and do your best”. Simple but meaningful. This advice is my guiding path to every piece of art that I created. Being always reminded of this simple advice, keeps me always to enjoy everything in my life especially in creating an art no matter its genre.

Expressing my Ideas, thoughts, emotions and feelings, is what I give to every artwork that I make. Trying to make such beautiful art, I also give all my time and effort to it to make it a very nice piece of art. Combining ideas I learned from my experiences and making it my own, helping me figure out my very own originality of art. Well for me, the whole point of creating such art is for the artist to express his ideas to the world.

Inspired by Renaissance Art, such as the Fresco “The Creation of Adan” of Michael Angelo at the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, the Monalisa of Leonardo Da Vinci and the Madona and child of Raphael. This master pieces encouraged me to love art more. Dreaming of the day that I can also make an art as beautiful as those. These artworks are truly am magnificent, many aspiring artist like myself, idolize the artistic creativity of these artist. Also, I was not just inspired by foreign art. I also admire the works of our Filipino artist such as Fernando Amorsolo and Juan Luna, especially his spolarium that awaken the Filipino spirit of Nationality.

Now the art that I made or will make came from my different ideas and mood that I expressed while doing so. I can create such beauty and some which is not that good depending on my surroundings. If its peaceful, crowded or just too much of those two but anyways, My art exhibits my feelings, it reflects who I am or what I am in my art.

I do believe that Art is like your mirror that helps and gives the viewers an idea of what you are, what you think and on how you feel.  It tells how much effort you gave into it to make an art to be appreciated, every art do say so. It’s like you’re giving away your personal data to those who is looking and appreciating your art because like the definition of art says, “It is a product of an individual’s imagination, emotions or feelings, desire or aspiration and creativity”. Although every artist has their own definition of art that came from their different interpretation on what is beautiful or not.

In my opinion, making an art is really a challenge, especially if you want it to be an awesome one. Challenge makes things harder literally but if look deep enough, it’s one of the basic things that encourages us to be at our best, to make our imaginations work and release our creativity no matter what the odds.

Art for me is a product of one’s heart. It came from one’s devotion and hardwork because there is no such thing as an easy art.  From mixing ideas to the final touches, nothing is simple but even so, the more we give effort to our art, the more we can appreciate its true beauty. Even though it just came from a copy kind of art or an art based on curiosity or by accident, I am still proud that I learn art by my own means and I learn it by heart.
