The plot of the movie is very simple. It’s a story of Wyatt Trips(Paul Rudd), a college student who sent a package containing a letter saying that he breaking up with her girlfriend which includes a picture of himself and a topless stripper because he thought that his girlfriend is cheating on him. Now after he discovers that his girlfriend, Kimberly Jasney(Christine Taylor) was not, he and Ivy Miller (Reese Witherspoon), the stripper have a whole day to retrieve that package and to fall in love. Honestly, I like this plot a lot because of its twists in the story that really helps in the character development.
Speaking of the characters, I really love the chemistry of Paul Rudd and Resse Witherspoon because they really pull through the contrasting perspectives of their characters especially in the scenes where they are arguing. I can see that their acting is very natural like they were childhood friends arguing to hide their feelings for each other. With regards to the actors, I can see that they all did a pretty good job in portraying their roles that made this film very smooth.
Well a film this good as this if it wasn’t for its director (Jason Bloom). Yup, of course writing a review in such good movie, I should not forget to compliment the hardwork of the director. If I was to be blunt, I think that this film is way better than his fist film “Bio-dome” which I heard is a huge critic failure. Although this film is not good enough for the critics of “Rottentomatoes.com” I can still say that he did a pretty good job in maintaining the quality of the film and at least he did try his best to grow and improve.
Anyway, the film is good and really entertaining. It’s a romantic film with a little comedic twist so fall in love while laughing out loud.
